I honestly think that by the time you are at that stage of birth, you probably won't be thinking too much about tearing or getting an epi. I had an epidural and couldn't feel much, but I still wasn't even thinking about that. All I could think was that my baby was almost here.
I did end up tearing a little and required 4 stitches which healed really quickly with minimal pain. Fingers crossed it's similar this time round.
