No, they're white cylinder kind of things. Wide. In the bedroom, they have black embellishments.

I have chandeliers. In every room. Covered in cubic zirconias so the neighbors think in fancy

Lol I just have energy saving gloves in this house. At my old house we had down lights. I wasn't a fan because they break a lot easier and they are expensive to replace

We have downlights and a variety of pendants. Oh and lamps too.

I think the downlights are bogan thing relates to the McMansion phenomenon. Downlights are McMansion lighting of choice, McMansions are what bogans aspire to, therefore downlights are bogan.

    Or that is my theory!

My theory on the downlight thing is people thinking they're really flash, getting excited about getting themselves some downlights. Most modern lower cost homes have them stock standard these dasy.

And back when the McMansion trend started downlights were new and fancy and expensive so they became some sort of bizarre status symbols.

Perhaps they started off as a CUB phenomenon and it trickled down from there?!

We redid our lighting through the whole house when we renovated and put in silver round led downlights.. We have 20 alone just in our living/dining room lol but its a big room... Then in our bedrooms each one has a different themed pendant light.

I don't know how they are bogan lol
