I need some advice, right now Im feeling a bit confussed and overwhelmed to find out what happened after DS was born.
we planned our family with three children very close together, DD is almost two and DS is eight weeks, both c/s one emerrgency, last one planned. Not very good experiences...
After DS was born eight weeks ago I felt something wasnt right, developed cloths after delivery and were very painful! Plus had a terrible pain on the mright side of the cut. Midwives and doctors were happy with scaring I wasnt. Looked horrible and doctors left a bit of skin hunging like a little lip on the right side and got infected later on. Got back home just to feel sore, very tired and still bleeding after eight weeks of delivery.
After the six weeks check up and a couple of ultrasounds (plus an internal ultrasound too), three other visits to see GP and lots of pain I have been told some idiot stitched the external wall to the internal wall of my uterus together! So that part of the uterus will scar thinner than the rest and in case I get pregnant again I cant get full term! That part of my uterus wont resist all the stretching to go full term.
im devastated and really upset. Im booked to see the doctors back at the hospital and I want to know what would you do in this case? We spent more than $1000 so far! Should i look for legal advice? Do you know of a good lawyer in Melbourne who can advice about medical negligence?
We'll appreciate all your comments.

Would you apply for medical compensation after cesarean mistake?

Hugs to you , yes I would get legal advice and proceed, its not fair to you what has happened and I think you need to for your future mental health and for the next time you have a baby. Its their job to fix this . So sorry to hear this has happened to you xxx

Firstly you need to get hold of your record and read the consent form you signed, they have probably covered themselves. Sorry.

I definitely would, that's an unacceptable error.

Ask for all records first because experience tells me they can be changed or removed. Yes, go for medical compensation, that is not on.

I would at least get your records and see what they say. That is unacceptable, and they need to be held accountable when mistakes are made.

I think every hospital has a paitent Liason officer, perhaps contacting them should be your first step

I would, even if it was just to cover the medical costs you have had so far and the costs with repairing the scar and anything internal they could do to minimize the pain etc, plus counseling for you.
I would have thought that was a fairly simple and obvious mistake that should have been picked up by the surgeon or supervising surgeon, and that it shouldn't happen.
