When my kids are old enough to receive expensive gadgets it will be on the condition that it is up to them to take full responsibility for them

DH gets cranky I don't check his pants pockets before I wash them. I have washed keys and wallets! Sorry but he's old enough to be able to check them before they go in the wash basket - I have enough to do!

So glad the iPod works! That is quite amazing!

My old iPhone has survived 2 dunks in the loo and once in the kitchen sink (twice out my bra while wiping little bottoms and the kitchen sink when DS2 decided to throw it across the room!! Rice saved us each time I have been told the don't turn it on and dunk it in metho followed by a stay in a container of rice but I never have any metho :/ now I have added accidental breakage to my content insurance JIC!

Re who's fault it was. I don't think it was yours, most def the 12 yr olds I wouldn't of offered to pay for it IMO if your going to let your child take an $$ toy to a friends house you should check if it's ok first and give the parent a chance to say no or yes but if anything happens yadda yadda you get my drift...

Most electronic items will come back to life if you wait till they are fully dried out ( put in a warm room on a towel).

Glad to hear the ipod lives to sing another day!
