You poor thing There was nothing else you could have done. Not your fault at all, the dog's owners are responsible for him being out. You did everything right. I hope he's ok!

Plenty of these. These things happen....I have never hit any animals, but my Mum hit one of our roos (they kind of live on our property) and she threw her baby out of her pouch to save it, and she hit the baby as well. She took the baby to the vet, Mum had jumped away, and he was going to be ok...she turned up in our garden a few days later licking her leg and glaring at us..for an hour...Talk about laying on the guilts. He survived, and they were back together a week later..it was kind of funny because it had a happy ending, but my Mum cried herself to sleep for a few days.

    You did everything you could.

It is the dogs owners fault for not keeping it contained. The dog should never have been near a road!

I have hit and killed a dog before. If he got up and ran away, there is hope that it will find home and be treated.

I have also had a large dog run out and head butt my car door... The owner couldn't stop laughing as I was bawling my eyes out... (I guess it might have looked funny...)

    Stupid owners...
