    Default Hip pain..baby related?

Hi, I have this stabbing hip pain everytime I step on my right leg. It is on the side into the joint and feels like a stab, I can almost not walk it hurts so much! Is this a baby related thing or I am I just getting old now?

I want to say baby related, only because I am experiencing it too, and am blaming baby!!!! Someone mentioned my SI joint to me, after googling it I realised I do have a lot symptoms of it actually being my SI Joint causing my grief! Prior to that I was blaming my sciatic nerve (I really shouldnt self diagnose!).

I am thinking of booking into see a physio or osteo and investing in a pregnancy pillow to see if it will help.

Hugs, I got it with DS too, and it disappeared as soon as he was born.

hah...great news about it going away! This is not my SI my Si's bot pop out regularly and I was at the physion this morning who said they are fine. this also seems to pulsate down my leg and into my lower back on the same side...cant remember ever having it before. It does not hurt unless I walk...it is a pain in the @ss excuse the pun.

Could very well be... the sciatic nerve runs from the lower spine, down the leg and apparently it's pretty common to experience sciatica (pain in that nerve) whilst pregnant. There are PLENTY of other possible causes though of course.

For about the last month I've had some pain in my hips...usually only when I put weight on my right leg. It comes and goes though. Sometimes it's fine, but I've also had a couple of occasions where it's so bad I can't actually walk on it.

I had something like this in the later part of my last pregnancy. Mine also went away straight after baby was born. I never really asked my obstetrician about it but it was pretty painful, only when I walked though. Agree its a total pain.

True that. Im assuming it'll happen again for me this pregnancy. Just treat it as a good excuse to kick back on the couch with a bowl of something delicious sitting on your belly.

I had the hip pain too! Was a bugger when I slept (or tried to) cos I was always laying on my side which made it worse! DH booked me in to a remedial massage lady who was trained in pregnancy massage and it helped a lot! Bloody hurt but felt sooo much better afterwards!
