Default Please tell me I'm being silly

I'm 4w4d pregnant today and I'm absolutely petrified of losing this baby.

I know I'm being silly, my hcg level at 4w1d was 236 which is good, my nipples are sensitive, I'm really tired and I think ms is kicking in but I can't relax and enjoy it.

Do you think it would be ok to ask my dr for weekly hcg levels till I'm 12 weeks ?

I haven't had any bleeding or cramping but I have had 2 previous losses which I think makes me worry even more.

I don't really know what the point of this thread is but thanks for listening.

Maybe with a history of mc they might be open to it. Ask and see what they say, they might be able to give some advice that might help put you at ease take care

    Hugs to you!

I haven't ever lost a pregnancy, but I can sympathize with the worried thoughts. I found out I am pregnant yesterday and last night I lay in bed awake from 3-5.45am wide awake thinking about miscarriages and all the things that could go wrong!!

I don't have any advice, but all the April crew are in this together

Perhaps you could organise a scan for after 7 weeks, seeing a heartbeat might help with the fears (it does for me).
You could always ask for regular hcg checks, a blood test every week for months seems excessive to me but if that's what would help you then no harm in asking.

    Thanks for the support ladies

That's the thing mm, it seems excessive to me too.

I know I'm being silly but I can't help it

I might ask for one more hcg level and for a scan when I'm over 7 weeks.

Are you going to have a dating scan? Seeing the heartbeat might put your mind at ease.

I am 4 weeks 2 days and I have had a recent miscarriage so I can understand your anxiety. I have just had another blood test to check my levels are rising as they should... last week at 3 weeks 5 days they were at 91. If they are normal than I am going to wait until 7 weeks for the dating scan.

During the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy I had weekly BT's (it was an IVF preg though)
The BT's are only really worth doing up to around the 9 week mark, then the numbers don't tend to tell as much. Even with IVF they only tested progesterone after around 9 weeks. But if it makers you feel better I say go for it.

I know how you feel. 3w4d here and I'm not going to feel ok until I hit that 12 week mark, I can tell you that much.

You're not being silly, it's pretty normal to worry. See if they'll let you get the extra bts if it will help your nerves a bit. I'm thinking about asking that myself given that my last was a chem.
