    Default Deactivating facebook account..

Have you deactivated your Facebook account and not gone back on to reactivate it? I have barely been on my fb in the last week and honestly think I could deactivate it but I don't want to be one of those people who deactivate but then a week later they are back on.

There is a way to close it permanently (I think you have to email them to do it). That way you can't reactivate it - it means it is gone forever.

I deactivated mine and never gone back. don't miss it at all. feel like there's nothing private out there anymore with facebook. everyone knows each other's business/every time they fart and so on.

Exactly! I decides the other day I wasn't going to go on at all that day and I didn't. I thought it would be a struggle not to go on but it was easy! Everyone is basically a stalker and an attention seeker.

I deleted my account about 5 months ago. You deactivate first then if you dont log on again for about 3 weeks they delete it completely

No, if you deactivate it then they don't delete it, but there is a delete option where it deactivates and then deletes after 2 weeks of you don't log back on. They are 2 different things though.

I have a friend who deactivates a few times a year once being for lent.

I deactivate mine from time to time if I'm procrastinating some big project or something I do go on Facebook more than normal which had gotten down to nothing I only reactivated though Pinterest is my new procrastination tool less drama and more pretty stuff

I've been contemplating deleting my account for a while due to the new rules for page owners and facebook making users a commodity which I don't like, I'm just keeping it open currently due to SIL having her wedding soon (2 weeks) so I can nab any photos she puts up of the kids or whatever but then I'll probably be deactivating and possibly deleting if I don't go back on by Christmas will depend if DH goes away for work too.
