I had mine done in 2009 after my eyes started having a reaction to contacts even though I'd worn contacts for about 6 years. My eyes are still pretty good but I do notice that at the end of the day they get a bit funny from being tired. My husband had his done years earlier but he is back to wearing glasses & I think I'll probably have to start wearing glasses again sometime in the future. If I didn't have the problem with wearing contacts I would have been happy to keep doing that. It cost me about $5800 for both eyes & I'm not sure that I can have it done again if they go bad. In hindsight I should have paid extra to get contacts inserted instead because if the strength changes they can take them out & insert new ones.
