    Default Any relief/casual/contact teachers out there... need some advice?

    I'm a new relief teacher and need some advice re contracts etc.. re a situation at my school.. anybody with any knowledge about this sort of stuff?

    Contact the Australian Education union or the Catholic equivalent. If you are not a member they won't help but I'd suggest you join as they are there to support you in situations like this.

    have already phoned QTU and they said what the school has done is often done but isn't really allowed and they frown on it.. if I want to I can take the matter further with QTU and they will talk to the school but I don't want to rock the boat in my first bit of paid teaching work. Just slightly disappointed to be treated like that (re pay) so quickly into the profession.. I guess I learnt my lesson and will get everything in writing BEFORE I agree to work! is that common to do?
