Just want to check if it is normal for baby's kicks to be painful. It is sometimes so hard it makes me yelp and I am at 34 weeks. I can not remember #1 being painful. #2 was very painfull the few days before she was delivered at 35weeks due to uterus infection. If it is not normal i will give my OB a call.

I remember DS1 once kicked me so hard in the ribs I burst out crying... sucked that I was in the middle of The Body Shop at the time!

We called dd1's kicks 'violent', she bruised me on several occasions.
But, she was always kicking hard like that. If that movement is unusual for you and your baby, call your ob or hospital. They may decide to get you in for some monitoring. Only you know if it's normal and right for you.

Perfectly normal I think! DD was a kicker. After 30 weeks, her kicks were so painful I'd actually cry out in pain every now and then.. Especially when she got me in the ribs! So much for having an anterior placenta
DD2 is already a kicker at 21 weeks (another anterior placenta), I think I'm in for a very uncomfortable third trimester can't wait!!!
Oh, but if ur worried, call ur OB or midwife just to put ur mind at ease

I'm glad you asked this, I am almost 32 weeks and have started to get very painful kicks too! Seems like it might be normal.. I know my bub has been very active from the word go too!

Nah, she has been kicking like this for a little over a week...i guess it is normal for her then. I am just getting super paranoid approaching the birth gestational week of my 2nd baby...which was a terrifying time in my life.

Oooh, I have no clue where my placenta isjust that baby is posterior...spine to spine. When she kicks in the ribs it hurts but it hurts more when she kicks my sides...argh...everything actualy hurts right now getting frustrated with myself.

Sounds pretty normal. DS would do a full body stretch across my belly early in the morning and it was very painful! He would also kick me under my ribs and that would hurt as well.
You are on the home stretch now - soon your baby will be in your arms!

I often get some swift sharp jabs which make me yelp! Bit embarrassing when it happens in public, bit amusing when at home/work as people around me think something is wrong he he he
