Default Mac people I need help!

I got given an iBook G4 today for the kids but my friend can't remember the admin password. It's logged in luckily but I can't install or change anything without the password. Nor can I turn it off.

Where can I get the recovery discs from? Or is there anyway to crack through the password?

Oh and while I'm at it, any way to connect it to wifi?

I really don't want to go back to the apple store after today's shenanigans lol

    Got this with Google:

Reset OS X Password Without an OS X CD

    1. Reboot
    2. Hold apple + s down after you hear the chime.
    3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):
    • mount -uw /
    • rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
    • shutdown -h now
    4. After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can simply delete the old one.

As for wifi, it should have a program called Airport. Open it up and get it to search for wifi connections. It should give you a list of found networks, pick yours, enter your password and away you go.

Ok I'll give it a go!

It doesn't have built in wireless. It's pretty old lol. It's got airport something set up but think I need an adapter or something.

Hmm, I had a G4 until last year and it had Airport (might be called Airport Express or Extreme). Must not have been standard. Can't help you with external attachments as I've always had built in.
