Last night my lovely ds2 smashed my Revlon photo ready liquid foundation all over the bathroom floor it was my only foundation. I've been using that one for a few years so I think this is a sign for change. Anyway I'm now in need of some recs for a new one. I have freckles and red patches on my nose and chin from sun damage/pimples which I do like to cover but not cake up and I'm not a fan of using concealer. I don't get a lot of pimples and my skin in normal not oily or dry.

I have fair skin and freckles. I don't like thick makeup because it covers all my freckles and makes me look quite strange!! I use Lancôme Teint Miracle. Water based, so not oily, and it looks really natural.

I have freckles and patches and I use Mac studio fix and love it! It is a heavier foundation though.
If you're not keen on a heavy one then mac also do mineral make up I adore their products... Make my skin so even and even though it's a heavy coverage... It doesn't feel heavy IYKWIM?

Another one here with pale skin and freckles. I love mac aswell, but for a more casual look for me I like the maybellene (sp?) mousse without powder. I usually have oily skin but this creamy foundation seems to just leave me dewy for hours without needing powder

Where's the best place to get Mac products from? I don't think I've ever used Mac foundation so would need to test the shades before buying so rules out online

If you have a myer or david jones near you they have a mac counter where they will select your colour etc.

I use Mac to. Myer sell it. Also another good one my friend uses (used to use Mac) is DB designer brands and she loves it and it's quite cheap.

Lancome are quite good for coverage and a fresh look.
Creamy based ones such as photogenic are good.
I think if you are going to spend money on something with regard to makeup it is foundation - if you get that right you have already won.
I used to work in the cosmetics industry and so far Lancome is my favourite out of all the brands…I have tried many different ones.
