    Hi all!

Good job everyone sounds like people have been working hard. I have been okay so far. I survived work training yesterday and didn't eat the muffins cakes and Lollies that were in large supplies. I have been ok with exercise but think I need to up the ante. I have not had 'toilet legs' or any soreness so don't think I am pushing myself.

Any tips for socializing? I find social functions really hard especially when people have cooked for u. I hv my MIL birthday coming up so need to do lunch and dinner in the same day. Was thinking extra exercise and sharing cake with DH So I can have a small mouthful for politeness but not undo the good work I have been Doing

It's rainy and cold here today do don't feel like exercising. I will check in later to make myself accountable

    :-)

Well done resisting all those yummy things!

I don't really have any tips for socialising, except perhaps just try to stick to the healthier options like vegies etc and have small portions. It is tricky.

I just had the YUMMIEST lunch. I just wanted a light lunch as I had the cooked brekky today, so I had a chopped up banana with no-fat no-sugar greek yoghurt, and honey and cinnamon on top. Omg heaven!!!

Reading this, thinking should I, shouldn't I... Why not?! It might actually give me the motivation and accountability I probably need.
Like someone else said, I have been slack since TTC - worried about doing too much exercise in case I am pregnant - I've probably done more damage in letting myself go! I am angry with myself for letting my fitness go, so I am going to look up the couch to 5k and see if I can get back to running. I do miss it and it did wonders for me in the past. Despite my acupuncturist advising me to do light walking so as not to exert myself, I find it is not enough for weight loss. Would love to get back to gym doing combat, pump and attack classes. I need to cut out the afternoon snacking and eat sensible, healthy lunches. I also have a big sweet tooth and need to increase my water intake. I will commit to 4kg before 1 September but have plenty more to lose. Help keep me motivated and accountable please!!!!!

Well here we are one week in! Is everyone weighing in today?

I am excited to say that I am now 75.0kg, so that's a loss of 1.7kg in the first week. I am so happy with this result, and if I can keep it up will be on track to do better than my goal of 70kg by 1 September. Yay!

In the weeks leading up to this challenge I had started dieting on about four different occasions and fell off the wagon each time. This time for some reason it is all falling into place and is much easier to stick to. I am actually really enjoying it and loving all the healthy things I've been eating. So thank you Eko so much for starting this thread and being such a great motivator for us all

Last night I went out to a fancy pants restaurant for dinner and had this: "Baked Baxter silverbeet custard & chestnut crumble, sauteed ricotta nutmeg dumplings, baby fennel & mustard cress salad". It seemed the lightest thing on the menu but who knows how much fat was in it, probably heaps! Not to worry though, it's just one meal and I'm back into the swing of it today. All I drank at dinner was water and didn't have any entrees or dessert.

    How has everyone's weekend been?

SageS - Good work on avoiding the muffins and lollies, I have a hard time with that when it's at work :/ It's cold and miserable here too (are you in Melbourne?) so I haven't exercised AT ALL. So lazy.

AllCreatures - That light lunch sounds magic, and it certainly inspired me. I bought a tub of Jalna yoghurt and some honey and cinnamon to give it a crack, it sounds scrummy ^.^ WAY TO GO on the 1.7kg too, that's BRILLIANT! But guess what... Weigh in is tomorrow, so you may still loose more yet! Can't wait to see where you get to

    - Welcome to the challenge! I know what you mean, I've been so paranoid that working out to my normal harder levels would cause problems. Light exercise doesn't hurt though, I really should remind myself of that more often heh.

crunchie - You sure can join Treadmills are great I find, I kept mine in the loungeroom so that when I was sitting on the couch I'd look at it and think "Aaaah fine, I better do it then". Can't really avoid it that way hahaha.

AFM, this morning I've had a bit of a spanner in the works. I got a bfp! While it's what we've been working towards for half a year now, it obviously puts a kink in my diet *chuckle*.

So I'm eating carbs again, obviously that's something I can't avoid. However for lunch today we had a HUGE bowl of vegetable Pot Au Feu and sourdough bread. It was SO good, and very healthy. It's awesome because you fill up on veg and don't even miss the bread because it's so tasty.
I did however burn the roof of my mouth because I was so hungry and in too much of a rush to wait .
Then I had half of a huge chocolate chip cookie which I shared with DH. So all in all it was a pretty healthy lunch. I'm really going to have to be careful with how I eat now because I put on 30kg with DS and I REFUSE to do that again.

Small creatures that's a great loss! How are you doing it and staying motivated? I've told DH that I need to eat healthier and lose some weight. If I tell him I feel like I can have his support. He does all the cooking and he is generally a healthy eater/cook. My fall down is what i eat at work! The plan is to hit the gym tomorrow night.
Congrats Eko! Hopefully your healthy eating will continue throughout the pregnancy

Um..... WOW!!! Congratulations!!!!!!! That is amazing news! So I guess this means you'll be going a bit easier on yourself and not really setting weightloss goals, but I hope you'll still stick around and continue to tell us about your healthy eating; we can help keep you on track for a healthy pregnancy That soup sounds delish, and perfect for this cold Melbourne day. Congrats again, I'm so happy for you

I think I'm staying motivated because I am finally seeing results. This thread has been helping too, I think it helps to know that there are others out there doing the same as me, and I'm not the only person in the world being deprived of ice cream and chocolate!

    Hi all!

On my phone so hard to remember everyone's comments. Please don't feel offended if I miss something.

Big congrats Eko. That's awesome news. how exciting. Yes based in Melbourne - today isn't as dreary so think I better get out and exercise. I made DH walk at 930 last night as otherwise I wouldn't have met my exercise goal. Our dog loved it.

@ all creatures good job on the loss. I agree it's really motivating having others to be accountable too.

Welcome to the newbies! It is really hard staying on track at work. I work where there is always choc/biscuits/cake out and it's so hard to say no. I have stocked up on healthy snacks for my work drawer to stop me an have something from that instead.

Thanks for all the support - I feel like I am changing and eating healthier and it's great being accountable. Before i wanted a nap after reading everyones posts I am now going to go for a walk
