I know it's a little late seeing as we're TTC next month, but I am considering have a session or two of acupuncture before we do. I've heard it has great results and is relaxing anyway so thought we may try it - at least it'll make me feel as though I've done everything I can!
When during your cycle do you have it done? How often? I know you're supposed to do it up to four months before TTC but I figure any would still be fine.
I just called my lady but she's busy and I want to know NOW!!

Not sure if everyone is the same but mine is weekly and you just start whenever and when you do get a BFP you continue going until 12 weeks. I love it it's very relaxing and the lady I see is wonderful.

I'm not too sure on how many sessions before ttcing but I was seeing a Chinese medicine man at least once a week (that included acupuncture), we were ttcing at the time and it took me 5 mths to fall pregnant but I have PCOS. He said to me once that it gives someone who is doing IVF or similar a greater chance of conceiving. If you do a thread search I think I labeled it 'I finally feel in control' it may ave more details in it than I can recollect right now, oh and I loved the acupuncture it was very relaxing

I'm an acupuncturist is Brisbane and my partner is twelve weeks pregnant.
There are two things going on here.
One is the immediate effect acupuncture can have when trying to concieve. This has been highlighted in recent years by studies which show that acupuncture during ivf dramatically increases its effectiveness. Following this logic the ideal time to have acupuncture is in the days leading up to ovulation.
The second part is the positive effect acupuncture can have in preparing a fertile field for conception to take place. Acupuncture helps to regulate the cycle, increase the quality and quantity of blood flowing into the uterus and helps the woman into a relaxed state which is perfect for trying to concieve.
In this senario acupuncture begins in the months leading up to ttc and continues on a weekly basis.
in your situation I would suggest seeing an acupucturist asap and continuing weekly. You can try to book a session in the days leading up ovulation but if you can't dont sweat it. Having it regularly is more important.
Dont forget acuouncture is also great in the lead up to labour.
hope this helps
btw I had my partner on chinese herbs and she fell pregnant one month after ttc!

I went to an acupuncturist yesterday, she was lovely.
I will go again next week, and then the day before insemination and a week after as well!
