Default Why are some people so goddam selfish?!

Argh! Had a friend come over today with her son who is slightly older then mine. The two boys were running around together and playing. A few hours after they left, another friend told me that child that was over currently has the mumps! WTH would you bring a child who is infectious over to play with another child!! FFS that is all I need atm. I currently have a bung hand with a hairline fracture and soft tissue damage so am already struggling with looking after an active toddler. All I need now is for my son to catch mumps!

I would be freaking livid if someone did that to me. There is no justification for doing it unless your friend is wrong and that he's all in the clear. If not, then I would be beside myself, that's just wrong.

That's an incredibly selfish and strange thing to do as a parent. Maybe the child was out of the quarantine period?? It's just such a basic thing I'm amazed to be honest if it's actually true??

If your friend bought her son over while he was sick then that is disgraceful. But is there any chance he is past it and the second friend may have said "has" when it could be "had"?

(Note: I know nothing about mumps and their contagiousness or longevity.)

Has your child had the mmr jab? If so you have no need to worry.
