YES YOU CAN!! I do it alot. Mine is a huge 6ltr and I just make it as per normal (like for the oven) and cook it on low for about 5 hours or high for 3. The cream won't curdle so add it at the start. Take the lid off for the last half hour to help thicken the sauce if it needs it.

Oh and I do add 1/2cup of strong stock to it, I use vegeta and add a tablespoon to half a cup of hot water. Cut the potato either thin or thick.
