    Default When the going gets tough?

    Lately I have been feeling really overwhelmed with working full-time, keeping up with thw house and raising my bubby, I'm knackered all the time and today after work I had to call DH to grab something to go with dinner on the way home from work because I just had too much to do between now and work tommorow.
    So I wondered...

    When things get tough what do you do to cope, relax and what have you found helps your family?

    I relax after my bub is alseep, before I go to bed. We are new to the both working. I am thinking that we will do a huge cook up this Sunday and freeze meals as dinner each evening is the biggest thing for us. I am lucky I guess in that I am home each afternoon with my son at around 4pm! It really is so hard isn't it. Much harder then I thought it would be. Sorry I can't give more details as I am only new to the working Mummy thing xx

    If you can afford it, getting a cleaning lady in even once a fortnight is worth it's weight in gold. It has made an amazing difference to our lives. We still have to clean, but not the big cleans every week/fortnight we were doing previously.

    Try and get bubs to bed as early as possible so you can have some quiet time to yourself or with your partner.

    Get your partner helping as much as possible. You could make dinner/lunches while your DP baths your baby? Many hands make light work so talk about ways you can both contribute so neither feels completely overwhelmed.

    I'm not sure what you do but can you ask your boss if you can leave a little bit earlier each day? I find it makes such a difference to life when I finish 15-30 minutes earlier.

    It is hard but you get into a routine and becomes second nature after a while.

    I've started back at work this month as well.
    It's hard yakka and I'm trying to still feed EBM
    But routine I think is the key if you can stick to one.
    Big cook ups on a day off.
    And ASK FOR HELP.

    But most of all ENJOY BUBS every thing can get done in time but you can't turn back all those fun times with bub. )

    (now I just need to listen to my own advise)

    I have found that meal planning and meal preparation helps. On a sunday we will do shopping for the week and I will prepare all meals on sunday. Not cook them, just cut the meat etc for whatever im making during the week. That way when its time to cook all the prep is done and just need to cook. I returned back to work last month and just found out im pregnant so im in bed by 8pm every night.

    Thanks for replies,
    I work from home and finish about 4'30pm then do dinner bath and bed for DD before my DH gets home, we then have dinner and do tidy up together.

    Its just busy because my house needs to clean, neat and tidy for work so breakfast dishes can't be left on drying rack etc.

    I realise I just have to get on with it and enjoy my weekends off.
    At least DH agrees we need a holiday lol
