Default Please help! Need advice/suggestions before our fertility specialist appointment!

    Hi girls!

    So I need some help.

I have an appointment with my FS next Monday and I want to be prepapred! I don't want her sending me away for more testing that I could possibly have already done before I went. I have the following tests already completed:
Thyroid levels (normal), blood sugar levels (normal), all vitamins and mineral levels (all normal except for Vitamin D which is still below normal).

I have an appointment with my GP this Wednesday to test for the following to have ready for the FS:

    Androgen hormone (suspected PCOS)
    Fasting glucose levels
    Prolactin levels
Ultrasound of ovaries, uterus and tubes
    Semen analysis for DH

i think that's it .. is there anything else you can think of that would make the visit more meaningful?

    Thanks in advance ladies!

    Hi,

When I asked my FS for BTs he sent me for a full thrombophilia screen and chromosomal testing. I think I had about 14 vials of blood taken! I also had a HyCoSy to check my tubes were clear and check for any polyps/adhesions in my uterus. Try this link - I found it very helpful -

Don't be upset if they don't send you for everything at once. They will do what they feel is necessary based on your circumstances and work from there. All the best!

When we first went to see our FS he ordered another semen analysis with their labs. I had to have a HyCoSy too. More bloods by their labs. And we also had to do a three month flow chart of my temps and also indicate on the chart when we DTD. It was frustrating being sent away for more tests but at least I guess all bases got covered. Be strong, be confidant. You have angels on your side.

Hi firsttimemummuy, I had all bloods and US and SA with GP, but FS ordered some again, especially SA he wanted it checked again as it had been 4 months. He also ordered an AMH test around CD2 (I think) and a progesterone on CD21. He also booked me for lap and HyCoSy within 3 weeks too. I had some symptoms of endo which I hadn't thought about, but turned out to be minor, but the HyCoSy was our diagnostic to move forward. A little heads up, seeing an FS and the testing etc takes time and as much as we want things to move quickly I find I spent a lot of time waiting for things to come around. Still am. I am learning the art of patience!! Good luck, it's a move in the right direction to get some answers.

Didn't mean to make you cry. You are an amazing person. Good things will happen - just takes a lot patience, lots of love and a little bit of science.

I'm confused. There's another thread with the exact same title & question that some of us already replied to. Both raised by the same OP on the same day. Am I missing something?
