Default Quilt of baby clothes for a boy - good or bad idea?

We're moving soon and doing a huge clean out. When sorting through boxes today we found some more of DS1's baby clothes.

Though we're planning more kids I don't want to store a heap of clothes as with different seasons DS2 hasn't gotten to wear many of DS1's and it's unlikely we'll have a third boy born at the exact same time as DS1 anyway.

So now I'm deciding if I should sell or donate them, or if I should get the nicest ones made into a memory quilt for him.

I love that second idea but am unsure if he'll like it as he grows. He's four now.

    Thoughts?

I have a friend who did this for her daughters n gave it to them when they had kids. He may not get the sentimental value when his a kid but if he keeps it. It will mean a lot to him.
I personally love this idea and think its great

That's a lovely idea! A friend sent me a link yesterday to someone that makes teddy bears from clothes as keepsakes. There are some very clever people out there!

I've kept one of the first outfits each of our bubs have worn and plan to get them framed with a photo of them wearing them.

Agree with everyone else - it's such a lovely idea and you should definitely do it! My mum did this with Dad's old cotton plaid shirts when he died last year - it's a really beautiful momento and she feels close to him whenever she snuggles under it. Actually, that's a good reason to make a quilt from your kids' clothes - when they stop wanting to use it, you can claim it for yourself and think back fondly upon when they were little whenever you hold it

I'm doing it for my little boy, as he grows out of clothes, I keep the ones of his that I really love and pass the rest back to the communal boys clothes that my friend's and I have
