I'm starting to think I'm a litany of aches and pains....
Lately my left nipple has been itchy. Tonight I was looking at why it was itchy (as it was getting itchier) and I discovered a lump behind the nipple.
It feels like a grape...or eyeball.
It moves when I feel it.
Inside the nipple it feels fiery.
No discharge other than milk.
Could this be the start of mastitis (I've never had mastitis before which is why I'm asking) or something more sinister?

Lump Behind Nipple

I had a lump in my breast when I was breastfeeding ( i assume when you say you are discharging milk that this is the case lol) and turned out to be a blocked milk duct. It went away on its own.
I convinced myself ( in sleep deprived state with a newborn) that I was gong to die of breast cancer!
The days I waited for an ultrasound of the lump were the longest wait ever!
Just go to your GP and get it checked out ASAP.
I havn't had mastitis but from what iv heard you have a fever and your boobs burn red hot to the touch .... ? And the onset of these symptoms are quite quick. Maybe someone can confirm this?
Good luck I really hope you feel better soon xxx

Go to dr on Monday and get it checked out. Even if it is due to breast feeding and it's nothing sinister (which more than likely is) you will need to sort it out before it does turn into mastitis, I've not had it myself but known friends who have had it and it's terrible
All the best. Keep us posted x

Update: had some leftover penicillin (500mg tabs). Took these while waiting to see the doctor and lump went away. Had a check up and am fine.
