    Default Fish oil

    Hi

    I used to take fish oil supplements before we started TTC. When we started TTC and for three months before I only took Elevit as recommended by the doc and thats all well and fine but I never asked if I could take my fish oil again.

    I have a docs appointment I would ask at but it's a few weeks away so I was wondering if anyone would know if its safe to take a fish oil omega3 supplement during pregnancy???

    I used to take it for healthy skin as I found it helped with my breakouts

    Yes it's fine it's actually recommended ! The baby sucks all the omega 3,s out of us for its nervous system development plus my naturopath believes it helps regulate blood pressure and helps with post partum depression , I usually take 2 a day but am now on 6 while pregnant

    I have it every day My doctor and a midwife I spoke too both said it was good to take I have the recommended 2 a day (for my brand, Natures Way fish oil + vit d3 and iodine).

    I found out during my second pregnancy, after breaking out in a rash all over my belly, that elevit doesn't contain fish oil. I upped the fish oil, my rash went away and I changed to Blackmores, they contain 500mg a dose if I remember correctly.
