Default *fluff* Do you wash chickens before roasting?

I always do, and its one of my most hated jobs, washing out that cavity makes me want to ... And if I get a splash in my face *yuck*. But I don't like the thought of cooking it without washing

I just mentioned it too a fried and she said she has never washed one... It never occurred to her. And it never occurred to me not to lol.

    So do you?

    No I don't. Didn't know people did!

I can see reason for washing the outside, why the cavity?

Do you mean removing any left over guts? Or literally washing it with water on the inside?
If its just removing the guts, yeah I would. At my last job I had to de-gut up to 120 chickens a day before stuffing them and salting them. Grossest thing ever. Makes me wanna vomit just thinking about it.
If its washing it with water and all, umm, nope.

No, never! But I normally buy pre-marinated ones from Woolworths, so washing them would take all the yummy herbs and stuff off!

I guess I would if I'd bought one that hadn't already been cleaned and prepared.

Just be careful as the splashes not only can get in your face but on the sink/other utensils/taps/hands etc and can be full of raw chicken juice which could be full of disease/bacteria - I just pat with paper Towell to get any moisture off
