    Default Teething, help!

    Hi everyone,

Our daughter has had horrible nights sleep for a while. Tonight is by far the worst with us all still up. We couldn't work out what was bothering her until I got a feel in her mouth (without being bitten) and I can feel a tooth. The incisor (spelling) feels right there just below. The skin and I can feel it against the front of her gum.

We've tried bonjela, panadol, cold chew toys, cuddles, nappy change and feed, distraction. Both dp and I are exhausted. We haven't slept in 2 days.

Please help. What else can i try or do? Nothing seems to be working and I just don't want her suffering all because of this tooth.

I was going to suggest Panadol. So if that hasn't worked, I don't know! I used Hylands Teething tablets as well and they worked for us. You could give them a try maybe?

The incisors were the worst for DS. Once they break through though, the seem to stop hurting so much.

Hope you all get some sleep soon.

My DS cut four teeth at the same time recently and I swear by the Brauer's teething relief and an amber necklace. Seemed to make a huge difference. Hope everyone starts again some sleep again soon.

You could maybe try nurofen as well? Ask your pharmacist what doses she can take with panadol to provide the best relief. If it still hasn't broken through in the morning maybe try and give her a rusk to gnaw on to try and get it through. I hope she feels better soon - teething is the worst!

If you've tried everything else you could get her some amber. I was very skeptical about it but we got dd her amber teething necklace after a similar experience and we just couldn't take it anymore. She has worn it since she was 4 months (now 20months) and see never even know when she's teething. I know it doesn't work for everyone but it's worth a try!

I would do this and give nurofen. She can have her normal dose of panadol as well as a normal dose of nurofen according to her age and weight of course. Panadol and nurofen are 2 completely different drugs and can be used side by side.

My dd is 6 months and teething. She has an amber necklace on but not 100% if its working. So we give her both. Also when babies are teething their teeth are down for 5days pushing on their little gums and up for 3 days.

Teething sucks!! Hope you all ended up getting some sleep. I try to avoid giving it, but nurofen is the only thing that helps when DS has bad teething pain.

Thanks so much everyone for your resposnses and advice! I feel so bad for DP as he only got about 3 hours sleep before having to go to work. I have tried to reach him to see if he got there okay but haven't heard from him. We were both zombies this morning. I ended up getting about 4 or 5 hours sleep. After 2 or 3 am.

I will definately go get some nurofen today for her as the panadol seemed to do nothing and I am on the hunt for one of those necklaces. Does anyone know a good place to buy them from? I have heard some things about making sure they are authenticated etc? But how do I know if I have the right one?

Once this tooth comes through she will look funny with two bottom teeth and an incisor!

No sleep today either (at least for me) there are 3 x two-three storey high dead tree's against the house that are coming down today. So lets hope the nurofen trick tonight (if she needs it) can help.

    Thanks again lovelies!
