I like them if I have a basket of things, but don't use them for a full trolley. I find them convenient, and I love that I don't have to make small talk with anyone!

I use them if I have a basket, for a trolley load I'll go to a person though.

Ours still have someone watching them, and because I know most people working at our Coles I still get to chat away. I like them.

I love them, quick and convenient, and easy to use as long as you watch for the red/green lights. I don't use them for a large shop cos it gets frustrating when you need to add extra bags etc, and the voice complains...but for a basket I love them. I'm busy, I just want to buy my stuff and go

I refuse to use them.

I love them if I only have a few things. I really don't understand people who go through with entire trolleys though, the area is not really set up for that.
I don't really believe it's taking a job away from someone either... there is someone employed to supervise the area, and surely the system creates employment in other areas (technology, maintenance etc).
It's not like six self-serve registers equates to six conventional registers that would otherwise have employed six human beings. The fact is that there never were that many registers open before-hand; there would have been one open, and we would have been queuing at it.

I don't mind them for a few things in a basket.. but i do hate it when people with full trolley's use them. they shoud have the same limit with say 12-15 items max like the express checkouts.

I don't use them, id rather go through the express lane when I've just got a few items.
