Go with the Dyson Animal!!! Best thing that we ever discovered. We have a German Shepard who sheds everywhere and this vacuum is amazing at getting it all. My husband even enjoys using it and now does the vacuuming! Haha

Here's a bit more, the Dyson animal is chord less and only a couple of kg in weight so you just hold it whilst vacuuming. No annoying cables to plug in and no dragging hefty vacuum bodies around on the floor!

I have a bag less vacuum. It's a Kembrook Jaguar one (it's a pretty pink too!!) and while it wasn't overly expensive, it's the best vacuum I have ever owned!! It was under $100 from
Big w and I've had it for about a year. Not once has it lost suction even when the filter and container have been full to the brim. We have a cat as well so lots of fur. I really cannot fault it.
