Do not knock and do not call signs/registries don't apply to charities... Only to commercial organizations

I have a fail proof anti-knocker system.
It's a bit hard to install, and isn't mess proof, but it's 100% effective at keeping door knockers away.
You have to install it in the window that's right next to the door for it to have a full effect.

Lol@ the dogs ha ha!
Bummer that the registry only applies to commercial orgs
I have seen signs in shops before "please do not ask for credit as refusal often offends"
Am trying to think of a similar sign to put on my front door. I'm thinking:
Please, no unsolicited knockers, as refusal often offends"
...but it doesn't sound quite right.
"Please, no unsolicited knockers or we will unleash the hounds" ???
PS my beef is, I don't want them to knock in the first place, I don't want to have to fob them off, I don't want to have to stop what I'm doing to answer the door, its a waste of my time and theirs (cos they are *never* gonna get a yes)

I had one the other week who I could barely understand and I tried explaining I was on my way out and one of my daughters had just pooped her pants and I needed to clean her up and got the "this only takes a minute"
I'm all for helping children, and my carpet. Which is why I needed to tend to my daughter. Bugger off!
We already donate to 2 charities, we can't help everyone.

The telemarketers, energy companies and charities have gotten really bad in my area. I think many have cottoned onto the fact there is a do not call register and people just hang up. When you have someone at your front door in front of you it's harder to get rid of them.
Had a look at the do not knock page and it doesn't seem to be a register as such. Just a site that has the stickers and tips on how to get rid of them. but a do not knock register is really needed

I just say I'm not interested and close the door. You could put up a sign "No Hawkers allowed"
If all else fails I just don't answer the door.
