    Default Low lying placenta??

    Hi everyone
Just wondering if anyone else got told they had a low lying placenta at 20 week ultrasound? And if so, did it move up through the pregnancy?
We had our scan yesterday and got told this. I've done some goog'ling which leads me to believe that most people's move enough to have a NVD if chosen

Hi there, yes, I have had this with all 3 of my pregnancies- each time, I have had a scan later on in pregnancy and it has moved up and away each time and I have normal VD each time. With my first 3, I had a scan at 36 weeks, and with this one, I had a scan at 30 weeks and it had already moved up and away.

I know so many women who were told this at their 18-20 weeks scan. But all of theior placentas moved up and they were all able to attempt natural deliveries...

Yes I was told this at my 20 week scan. My ob kept an eye on it at each appointment but unfortunately mine did not move and I had to have a c-section.

With my first I had a low lying placenta at 20 weeks, had it checked at 34 weeks and it had moved up. I had a normal vaginal birth. I think in a lot of cases it does move up.

    Hi,

My 18wk scan showed i had a low lying placenta.

My 28wk scan showed that my placenta was in an acceptable position to have a vaginal birth. Just had my 34wk scan and everything still ok.

    Good luck,
    Doorh
