I read in dd's school newsletter that there is a day course (or few days can't remember) for 123 magic. Is it worth doing? It cost $25.

It is great. It is very practical and makes you more aware of how you parent and things that you may be doing to escalate a situation. For me it was the pitch and tone of my voice. I also find by 'counting' behaviours I stay calm and it is a lot more pleasant. I have never got to 3 yet..... I use it for DS's (4) excessive whinging and to nip a potential tantrum in teh bud. I try to emotion coach too. That is super tiring though.
For $25 if you have the time I would do it. Only good can be got from it
