Where have you put a mobile and where have you found it most useful? Do you find that they soothe babies to sleep (cot) or stimulate/distract them (change table)?

Mobiles - cot or change table?

I have one over both. For the cot I put an elephant one, that doesn't make any sound and moves around very slowly. As for the change table, it's one that DS can touch and it has lots of bright colours. Both work really well.

Too much distraction for DS in the cot. It was a god send for the change table, hes always been a breeze to change

Cot was kept very boring to hopefully help with sleep

I had one over the cot for DS - until he pulled it down on himself....

We have one on the change table only. Used it for both girls and it's been great.
When DD1 was big enough to touch it we took the mobile part down and just left the music component on and she was happy with that.

Both my kids found it too distracting in the cot but loved it on the changeable which is actually when I needed the distraction the most 😃

Only over the changeable. I want cot area to be as boring as possible for sleep time.

Over both. I bought an animal one for the cot then got a whizz bang one as part of my farewell gift from work so that went on the cot and my plain one went away.
DD use to scream at nappy change time so I pulled out the little original one and its now over her changetable. Now she loves her 'dancing animals' at change time
The one over her cot does not go on at sleep time. She lays in watching it in the mornings whilst I eat breakfast and sometimes if she's very upset it settles her

No mobiles in this home. Just never got around to buying one. But it would definately distract DD if she had one in her cot. Probably something I could use at change time though!
