    Default Cleaning a vacuum filter

Any tips on how to clean all the crud out of a vacuum filter? I keep banging it on the ground (outside) and more and more dust keeps wafting out, it's never ending. I've tried soaking it but it's still encrusted with dirt and dust. It's a cr@ppy vacuum at the best of times so I want all the suction I can get!!

    TIA.

Soak it. I use bleach to soak it in or washing powder. Then rinse it should all come out. Then leave it to dry in the sun for a day

Oh, no. Don't soak it. if its a corrigated paper like filter this is the worst thing you can do.

Best thing is if you have access to an air compressor. Most service stations have them available to use.

You may have to but a new filters and start fresh.

I work for a vacuum store so I am trained to clean and service & repair & sell vacuums.
