    This. Except the only lesson I think kids learn is that people who are bigger than you can hit and it's ok.

    I've got 3 kids and have faced every safety issue anyone has ever used to justify a smack and I've never smacked. People can say all they want about nothing else working or no other opportunity for other forms of discipline but I still do not agree with smacking. DH and I have agreed tha if either of us ever raised a hand to our kids it would be a serious problem in our relationship.

    No smacking here. Its a stupid way to "teach" a child.

    I can't do time out with dd, it distresses her. I used distraction when she was younger, now we use discussions, but there have been a couple of smacks on the bottom when it was the only thing.
