Default 2013 is so far away!

Hi everyone! I have just caught up on the last month or so and am so happy to see that there are others like me who aren't at the point of being allowed to ttc but still want to talk about it and plan!

About me: 25, uni student clinician (allied health), previous home child carer, ex-retail supervisor. Have a 3 1/2 year old ds from previous r'ship, been with DP for 3 mths (yeah ok, but sometimes you just KNOW) who has a 7 yo from previous r'ship & is an electrician from NZ.
We are both extremely clucky and he would get me utd in a heartbeat.... Except that he insists that we get married and live together first, and preferably that I've finished my degree (2 more yrs!!) before we go making our baby
I usually don't have a problem with this whole plan except that I am very very clucky ATM (about to O actually, might have something to do with it!) and am feeling extremely impatient with the stupid plan... my current ttc timeframe is feb/march 2013 so we will see who wins out
Also, because we both have ds's, we are going to employ some natural gender swaying methods to try for a dd (hope that doesn't offend anyone, happy to talk about it with anyone who'd like more info)

I have been fructose free, full fat and low carb for 6 months and have lost 7 kg in that time (I'm a petite woman and its hard to kick those last couple kg!) I'd love to share some info with the ladies who are trying to drop a few before ttc'ing. Just ask!

I put on 14kg in my first pregnancy; son was delivered naturally with no chemical pain management or intervention at 35 wk 6 days (spontaneous rupture of membrane). That puts me in the moderate risk category and ill be taking out private health insurance and pregnancy cover in the new year.

I am really excited to go on this journey with all of you and trust me... When we are all ttc'ing and 2ww'ing it gets like a soap opera in here! Best of luck everyone!!

hiya mare! Welcome good luck on your TTC and weight loss journey. Im terrible at sticking to things when it comes to weight loss. Especially now for some reason. I have the motivation, but lack the energy and persevereance. I go really well, then fall off the rails. I lost 3kgs in 10 days at the start of last month, then we had 3 birthdays in 7 days (eating out, and cake) does a diet wonders!! LOL. Ive maintained it for 4wks though, just need to get back on the band wagon again.

    Hope everyone is doing well

    Hey ladies.
wow it's been a busy week for me. I've had my accreditation stuff on at work but that's all over and done with now.
Thanks for all the ladies who wished a happy Halloween. We had lots of fun at our place. Our house was all decorated and Dp and I were dressed up as zombies. Lol we scared a few of the neighborhood kids.
Lon a ttc note, my af arrived at day 29 this month so yay they are pretty much on track. I think to myself hopefully I'll only see af 2 more times and then I'll be ttc! Yay.

    Hows everyone else been?

Hi Marepoppin Well done on kicking the sugar etc and loosing some weight! My mum has had some great success with a no sugar, low carb diet (not that she really needed too, I'm the one who could do with loosing a few!). Has excercise played a role too, or just diet?

LilNightmare, are you in early childhood education?

Bought ANOTHER pregnancy test today, found a clear blue 3 pack at Chemists Warehouse for 10 bucks, 6 off, and I couldn't pass it up...

    Hi JessyJ,

Lol no the only exercise I do is incidental. I can't do the things I want to do (running, biking) because ds left me with an unstable pelvis so it's all dietary. I had 10kg to shift 6 months ago and so far 7.5 kg are gone. I find it pretty darn easy to not eat foods containing more than 3% sugars because I've mentally and physically kicked the habit/addiction and hey, I look pretty darn good! I'm pretty much at my pre-baby weight from just over 4 years ago (ds is 31/2)
I'm not looking forward to losing my trim figure again but I'm hopeful that good choices in food and some light exercise will make the gain minimal next time round. I am really short though so 2kgs on me looks a lot worse than 2kg on someone of average height!

    Hi and welcome marepoppin

    .

thats really exciting, hopefully it will make ttc a little easier for you. especially if you are ovulating at a good time, (not too early or too late in your cycle)
How did your accreditation go? I assume in relation to the NQF?

what a bargain! I have been buying frers, whenever I want to test and it becoming quite expensive, Ill have to keep an eye out for ones on sale.
I have been using internet cheapies, and just brought another batch too. But they are just not the same.

I can't do the things I want to do (running, biking) because ds left me with an unstable pelvis so it's all dietary. I had 10kg to shift 6 months ago and so far 7.5 kg are gone.
Wow, what an achievement, that is a really good effort without exercising, well done.
I have been blessed with a trim body, but lately I have been over indulging, and would like to tone up a bit before falling pregnant. Don't know if it will happen, but it would be nice.

afm, I am 10dpo and still getting bfn's so maybe this month is not for me!
I have managed to speak to dh about it though, and although he is not ready to actively ttc, and he does not want to know about ovulation and cm and when we 'have to' dtd, he is happy to just see what happens, and not prevent a pregnancy so if its not this month for us, hopefully a bfp wont be too far away.
Although he does not want to hear about it, I still have every intention of using opk's and paying attention to my body and instigating bd'ing whenever possible around o'ing to maximize our chances. so really we will be actively ttc, he just wont know all the details hahaha
I still don't really know what my cycles are doing! if I count the few days of very very light spotting that I have been having, my cylces have been 27 days for the last 2 months. SO maybe coming off bc, has just made af really really (almost non extant) light???? ill see what she has in store for me this month!

who else is in Vic, and got to enjoy a lovely long weekend?

Default 2013 is so far away!

Hi all! First off, baby dust to all those ttc or ntnp atm, fx for all of you
I wanted to ask everyone something and I couldn't really find the right forum for it so came back here.

Backstory- there are several things I would change about my son's first few months if I could. These are: not having an anxiety attack that brought on premature labour (35 + 6) that wasn't my fault but still... Having my (now-ex) partner with me during labour and delivery (attack due to his unexplained and prolonged absence)... But the very most important thing that I would like to go back and get another go at is Breast Feeding!!!!!!

I tried so hard to feed my DS but he was born prem and it took a week for his suckling reflex to develop, so it was expressing constantly for his nasogastric tube, and I basically got left alone in the special care nursery without any lactation consulting unless I specifically requested it, and I had acute carpal tunnel in both hands so for the first few weeks I would be in agony in the positions I had to hold my hands in to feed, plus DS had oral thrush that I just couldn't seem to get rid of! After 5 wks of decent feeding my nips started cracking (very normal) but they wouldn't heal, and I couldn't even express without searing pain let alone bf, so I was devastated to wean at 10 weeks. I had seen numerous child health nurses about my problem but they would just get me to show them baby's attachment and say all good, or give me a dvd to watch! I found out almost a year later at a check up that I had thrush on my nipples, and that's why they were paper thin and painful. I was just floored. I could have treated it so easily, and instead I had to give up on the one thing I used to dream about when I was pregnant.

So sometimes, when I'm feeling super clucky, even when I'm struggling through my uni exams and still dreaming of having a baby right NOW.... I wonder if its because I never satisfied my desire to really nurture and feel that my dream remains unfulfilled? It's crazy how much I want another shot at it.

So the questions are: am I crazy and is there anything that you would like to do over again that wasn't able to be done in the first place?

    Hi Marepoppin

I also hope to breast feed or at least express breast milk and bottle feed due to time restraints (taking bub to work fulltime within 3 weeks of birth) but I guess we can plan these things but mother nature can come along and change those plans without warning. I think its good to plan but also to be able to go with the flow if you have done your best to try and make it work. you dont have any problems this time and can breastfeed as long as you like! I dont think there is anything wrong at all with hoping for the best outcome this time.

MrsLA I am sorry to hear that maybe this wasnt your month. You have made progress with your partner so hopefully it wont be too far off for you! You will have to buy some super sexy underware so he cant say no when you jump him around O time, thats what I plan on doing each month when we start trying haha

Jessy J I would do the same thing, stocking up on tests when they are cheap is a great idea considering most of us cant wait to test so go through heaps (and lots of $$).

LilNightmare I'm glad to hear your cycle is behaving itself. I wish mine was too! I have pretty much had a non existant period this month, hopefully something more happens today or tomorrow otherwise it will do my head in. Def not preggers so its just annoying. Pretty sure I ovulated though so not sure if it matters if there is no propper period? Argh I dont know!

MrsLA seems like you and I are going through a similar thing with light periods etc? I have been off the pill for about a year and have had light periods ever since. When I was young it arrived and there was no mistaking it, now I have light crap for days then red for one or two max but its still not very heavy. Its hard to know what to count as day one so I have been trying to concentrate on pin pointing O instead since that is the most important thing to know! This month I have had no real red AF so I dont know what that means. Unpredictable cycles are doing my head in!

Mrsla - yeah it was in regards to nqf and qip. Had our assessment day last week hopefully went well. Have good vibes about it. Lucky u about ur hubby I know u said u weren't fans of condoms. I hope that if ur af does arrive this month your bfp isn't to far away.

cantwaitforabubba- I've been blessed that af have come back to normal so quick. I know most women take a while. This is only my second cycle since coming off the pill after being on it for 8 years. I hope your periods sort out soon.

Jessyj- yeah I'm in early childhood education. I'm the room leader of a 0-3s room so I get my bubby fix everyday lol
