Default Where can I find out the kids blood type?

I have hunted through their blue books, but can't find the kids blood types. Does anyone know where these can be accessed? I assume they are somewhere as they get it at the heel prick test right?!

When DD1 & DD2 were born, their cord blood was tested and I was told their blood types.

I got told when DD3 was born that they didn't test cord blood for blood types anymore.

Even when DD5 was a cord blood donor, I still didn't get told her blood type when I asked.

When I asked how I could find out, I was told that I had to wait until my children were 16yo and then they could go and donate blood and get told their blood type them. (Unless there was a medical reason to find out before hand.)

PS: I am O+ so didn't have to worry about anti-D problems.

You may need to request a test done as we found out our DD1s when they did testing for jaundice (needlessly)

It was on both my DDs discharge papers from birth, I'm pretty sure. Too cold to go check now.

I'm O negative and DH is O positive so DD's blood type was tested at birth to find out if I needed the anti-d injection. She's O positive like her daddy so I got jabbed.

We got told that they no longer check for babies blood type at birth (unless medically necessary). So we have no idea what blood type DS is..

Only if you are both O-.

Otherwise you could both have recessive genes to pass on to your offspring.

If you are both O-, then bub will be O-.
If you are both O+, then bub will be either O+ or O-.
