Default Modern cloth nappy help! pls.

I'm new to mcns so would like advice from any mcn users.
My care instructions say best to dry in shade so the elastic doesn't go brittle but I thought sun drying would be best as its a natural sanitiser.
can canesten/Dettol rinse be used in every wash then to kill any bugs?
    I'm so confused.

I don't dry mine in shade, they get the sun as it's the best to get stains and smells out. I so far haven't had a problem with elastics. I use Canesten in my rinse cycle before I wash as well.

I try and dry them in the sun as much as possible. Definitely gets rid of smells and stains. Haven't had any problems with elastic.

I always dry in the sun if I can. The sun gets rid of stains, smells and naturally kills germs. In winter I use canestan once a week. I dry on a clothes horse near a window, then finish boosters in the dryer. In good weather when I dry outside, I try to get them in as soon as they are dry. It keeps the minky fluffy and stops the elastic drying out. I have tuttos that are 2.5 years old and used on two kids that look almost brand new. And I always wash in cold water. A bit of Eco store once a week.

Just in case you don't, make sure that you hang it horizontally, so that the elastics are not draping over the line IYKWIM. That will help to have them last longer.
