    Yep ... catches lint, hairbands and clips too ... lol. Instruction book will say how to open it ... mine is a little door at bottom right. I flick it open, turn the plug thingie and out gushes heaps of water and crap.

    Mine is on a stand so I can put a bucket under, but my old one wasn't so I put old towel down to catch water.

    My front loader has a cycle for cleaning the machine. I put in vinegar in the powder section and turn it to the clean machine cycle.

    Also clean the rubber folds at the front of the machine, with vinegar, or disinfectant, as mould builds up and causes some of the smell also.

    Try to wipe the rubber folds after wash, so water doesn't sit in there.
