They discussed this during the boat regatta. The royal aide said there is no question that Charles will become king. The lineage to the throne has not been altered following his divorce. The people don't get a choice as its an hereditary process.

Yep, and the ones he divorced got off much easier than the ones he executed for "treason".

I don't know that Charles can be credited with how the princes were raised any more than their nannies can be to be honest.

Personally I think Charles should have to abdicate given that he divorced Diana but I don't have any say in the rules of succession lol. I'm happy though that Camilla can never be queen.

I think the fact that she has played such a big role in the Jubilee shows that the Queen has accepted her. She was on the balcony, onstage at the concert, sat next to the Queen in the carriage and has been front and centre for all events. The Queen would have approved that, so I think Camilla has done her time for her (and Charlse's) crimes as they say. She won't ever be Queen, but she is already playing a major role in the family.

What's his divorce got to do with him becoming king or not? Should they have stayed in an unhappy marriage just for the people's sake? Screw that.

That's what I meant, why would anyone here be scared of Charles being on the throne. I don't feel like that would threaten us in any way.

No of course not but it's my understanding that through the ages, if you got divorced you automatically renounced your right to the throne.
