We haven't had ours yet but I thought I'd share anyway. Our plan is to have a BBQ/party with some of our family (my parents and sister at least), our close friends and some of her little friends from mothers group and maybe daycare if we get her into one before then. So maybe about 20 people (OMG 20 people!!)
I'm going to have it themed - maybe jungle animals. And I'll make a cake![]()

We had a big party at home with about 45 people. We did a bbq and salads then cake and desserts. It was awesome!!!!!
We will do a big party every year. DS will be an only child so i guess a party every year is a perk for him!!

On her actual birthday we went to hogs breath for dinner with some family and had an ice team cake (first taste of ice cream)
We also had a garden themed party with around 20 children with morning tea and cake on the Saturday morning from 10am to midday. We hired a jumping castle and had a pool full of balls, a bubble machine and lots of yummy food and handmade birdhouse favor boxes. She had a cake with cupcakes
That afternoon from 3pm we had afternoon tea and a BBQ dinner, We still had the jumping castle and had around 50 guests and had a pink and white lolly buffet for favors, we had another cake also

I'm pondering this too! DD is 1 in August so still plenty of time to think of something. There are a few pubs around here that are great on Sundays for kids parties but I'm not sold on it. I think we'll keep it pretty simple, at home would be handy because she'll get tired and need a nap (me too probably!).

DS's birthday was a Sat, so we had a lunch at home with all the family. Decorated the house, had party food, I made a cake and he just loved having everyone around to show off to!
We also had a joint first birthday party with my Mums group which was lovely.

On the actual day we went to the zoo an had a great day, then on the Sunday we had a big party at home. Invited lots of people, DD is an extremely social girl and loved having all the attention on her.
We didn't have cake, DD wasn't allowed to eat "junk" food until her 2nd birthday

we hired a local hall that holds playgroup in it (so we had access to they toys) and invited family and friends. Had a total of 60 adults and 25kids there for a light lunch and snacks.
It was themed princess and pirates and I dressed DD up as a princess and all immediate family came dressed up too.
We really did have a fabulous time. I cooked for a month before hand freezing food and spent the whole day before decorating her princess cake, pirate ship cake and Number 1 cake. My MIL flew up a couple of days earlier with 8 different slices in her suitcase. All the family contributed a large plate of food so there was heaps of variety present.
This year is DD's 2nd birthday but we are combining it with Bub2's christening party. the theme is .... CIRCUS!
