Turns out we have some sort of hole in roof that doesn't let rain in but lets enough wind in to blow stuff down through lights and into the room. Wtf.

WTF indeed! Nothing like weather like this to show you what's wrong with something. I remember during Jan when it rained like there was no tomorrow and I woke up and found myself in an ankle deep puddle in my hallway

Have to say I was relieved when DH got home today, rain has eased off now but still REALLY windy in South Sydney! Hope everyone stays safe.

Yup i was very relieved when dh got home safe. The weather has calmed down alot.
I wish people would learn to drive to the wet conditions. One car drove along for quite a while with no head lights, several were caught accelerating too fast and not too to forget the genius who ran a red light. Thats my rant for the day.
    Be safe everyone.
