    Default Starting out a family daycare

    Hi
    I'm in the process of becoming a family day carer. What is the going rate? Do people have like a welcome pack etc

    Any ideas let me know as this is all new for me thanks

    When I started day caring I checked with established centers to see what they charged and settled on $5.50 hour that was 3 years ago. You can set what ever you feel is fair but centrelink who distributes ccb payments to your licensing agency can make you reduce it if they feel you are too high. Ask at the daycare office and they can give you a ball park figure of what other carers in your area charge.
