Default Archie, Arch, Archer?? Give up?!

But I thought perhaps his full name could be Archer - that would leave a more "serious" option for later in life if he didn't like or grew out of Archie - we would just call him Archie.

Is it silly to name your child Archer if you really only ever plan to call him Archie... or "Arch"??

But then... I'm not sure I like Archer. It seems too much of a noun rather than a name - is it silly?? Or is it a snobby-type name?!

Any opinions most welcome!!!! My brain hurts.
Omg I know this thread is a bit old but I could have written this word for word! We have chosen the name Archer so that if he wants to be a doctor or lawyer or something he can be "Dr. Archer" on "Mr. Archer" lol which sounds more serious, but we plan to mainly call him Archie! Unless he's in trouble then It will be Archer lol

Aside from commending your good taste in names All that remains to be said is it suits our son- but can be a more grown up name when needed.our only niggling sadness is how popular it's become- but that's why he has an awesome middle name too
    Ditto!

We thought we were being a bit different when we named our DS Archer. I love it as a name.
