I've traveled 2 hours for a party. I don't think 30mins is that far at all!

It takes me longer to get to most of my friends houses. Half hour is nothing

I would, no worries. 30 mins is not a long drive at all to me, if it was over an hour i might consider not going but 30 mins is fine.

I wouldn't think twice about driving that far. 1/2 hour is nothing.

Wouldn't bother me. I think some parents would be ok with you driving them , others would prefer to drive themselves. So yeah just invite away and parents can make up their own minds...

We travel 3.5 hours one way to my DDs friends parties (3 in the last 2months) as that's where we lived, so for us 1/2 hour is nothing

What do they do there? I'm guessing make/paint plaster casts but I could be off base!

That aside, I think 30 mins is fine. I would definitely drive my (hypothetical) chn there!

Thanks guys - I sort of know some of the parents so I might mention it to them and see what they think.

MissPiggy, it's just a little place where you go in, choose your plaster cast and paint it. You can buy additional bits and pieces, and pay a little extra for metallic paints or glitter paints, and then they gloss it at the end. I went there with DD and my mother for MY birthday...lol (not a party, lol, but I hadn't been to once since I was a kid and LOVED it... and we wanted to see a movie together, but there was nothing DD-friendly so we did that instead).

It's only $15 or something a head and that includes snacks and stuff, so I figure it might be an okay party, and it's a way to kill time without having to really do anything to entertain children. They can entertain themselves.

I don't know what's around, but there may be a local shopping centre nearby. I have no idea. I don't live there and have only ever been there to go there specifically.

Without a second thought I would.

I travel further than that for kids sports every weekend.
