    Default 4yo health check at gp??

    Our kinder newsletter reminded us hat we need to get a mandatory health check done at gp for 4yo in order to get the FTb at eof yer.
    Ive never heard of it??

    If you google 'Healthy Kids Check' you will find some info. I don't like it, we never, ever go to the doctor, we don't even have a GP.

    I think it's a brilliant idea in picking up if kids are getting abused or neglected. Op I got a letter in the mail from Centrelink reminding me.

    We did ours a little while back, it's basically a check they do on your child to make sure they are meeting certain milestones in preperation for school. They do things like counting, drawing basic shapes, recognising colours/numbers, threading beads etc. Took us about half hour, just make sure you mark down the date and GP who constructed the test so you can let centrelink know

    is this a new thing?? i never had to do that with DD? she was 4 in oct last year??

    I thought it was only if you had been advised to at previous apts eg we have to get DD checked at 4 as she has a heart murmur.

    It's a requirement now for Family Tax Benefit (can't remember of is A or B). You have to have It done the financial year your child turns 4. If not they can cancel your FTB.

    I wonder if you can conscientiously object like you can for vaccinations?
