    And while emergency medical treatment may be free, good quality ongoing rehabilitation and care isn't necessarily free or cheap.

    Nope not everything is free in our health care system .. And sometimes there are intensely long wait lists for things unless you or your child is about to drop dead. And I mean people don't always feel they can wait that long. And some things just aren't covered at all. Sucks hey..

    I only read paragraphs 130 - 144, as the balance related to stairs and the other defendants (seemed dull, lol)

    I'm still undecided about how I feel about parental liability. I think it is an incursion into parenting, unless it was an extreme case. I assume there haven't been many cases about it, because people don't want to sue their relatives, and when the parent is the person who would be sued, who would pursue it on behalf of the child, as that is normally the parent's role.

    I'm guessing this is a similar case to the one a few days ago. It would be about compensation & insurance not just the families screwing each other over.
