Binge drinking is dangerous. Maybe you should consider how much you both drink op.

The OP and her partner have both consumed more than the recommended daily allowances for both men and women- also known as binge drinking. Many people in Australia don't recognise just how little alcohol constitutes binge drinking, hence the big problem we have.
    http://drinkwise.org.au/you-alcohol/...inge-drinking/

A 6 pack of heavy beer is 6 x 1.4 standard drinks or a total of 8.4 standard drinks in one session, double what a man should consume in any one day. Three Wild Turkey and Cola premix is 3x 1.4 standard drinks so 4.2 standard drinks in one session or day, more than double what a woman should consume on any given day.

Haha I know what you mean, my dh does the same. And I agree for everyone to just let you have a vent and not get so wound up. Who's to know that you don t have a sober adult jn the house, or that kids weren't at grandparents for the night or that the drinks weren't consumed over a long period. And to be honest, what business is that of anyone else's?
I know that I could find something everyday to complain about, but usually j do it to my mum who nods smiles and agrees with me. You don't have that so go ahead and vent away!!

Maybe you should educate yourself a little before telling someone to "get a grip" when they actually are factually correct. A 6 pack of heavy beer is 6 x 1.4 standard drinks or a total of 8.4 standard drinks in one session, double what a man should consume in any one day. Wild Turkey and Cola premix is 3x 1.4 standard drinks so 4.2 standard drinks in one session or day, more than double what a woman should consume on any given day.
I really wish they would reduce the size of the containers that drinks come in so they only contain 1 standard drink!

opinionated you really do live up to your name on here don't you. Good thing we have you and a couple of others in here to show us regular folk how live our lives and be as ethical/legal/moral/vent only when appropriate as you and a few appear to be.

OP I get annoyed when DH eats/drinks something that I bought for myself. I do not subscribe to the theory that everything is 'ours' to share just because we are married so he cops a mouthful sometimes hehe - and it doesn't mean that we are going to end up divorced because of it surprisingly

Wow, hope you dont read the thread about taking kids to weddings and see how many parents are leaving their kids at home with a sitter so they can binge drink lol!!

OMG I'm pretty sure I clarified and said I was merely pointing it out out of concern. I'm not telling her, or anyone, how to vent or anything just that I'd noticed her post something negative about her partner a lot lately and that I hoped everything was ok.

It's not about being ethical, legal or moral. I am just as big an idiot as anyone else and have had my turn at getting smashed. I am pointing out that they are both binge drinking which has serious health consequences and costs our community millions of dollars, lives and countless other negative consequences every single year. Australians need to wake up, it's not a joke and I am no wowser. Spend one Saturday night in ER of a major hospital and you might get a little bit of an idea.
