Default what age for the first bike?

DD has a trike, and can pedal herself a bit, but Im wondering when we should get her a proper bike. She will be 2.5 at xmas, but I think its a bit young still.
    WDYT?

I got my ds his first for his 3rd birthday and he loves it. You can get different sizes so the one I got was the smallest 30cm . They are around $70 (wait for the toy sales in July!)

You could try a balance bike first? DS got his at about 18 months, though he didn't really get the hang of it until about 2yrs.
