I walked into a bridal store not wanting to pay more then $1000 as I see it as a waste of money to spend alot of money on a dress you will use once.
I was about to walk out when a lady said she could help me and pulled a bunch of dresses off the rack.
Ironically, one she pulled off I told her I hate and she insisted that I try all on. I ended up loving the one I hated!
The tag said $1750.
I told her no way.
She said if I put a deposit on now, its mine for $700!!! Woot woot!

Sort of spin off. How much did you pay for your wedding dress and why?

$1200 including postage, delivery & GST (ordered from America) and cos I loved it more than I thought I could love anything else in this world. I still do!.
(lol, and clearly I do love somethings more than my wedding dress! hehe!)

$50 I got it as a ex rental, they did alterations for free. I didn't want to spend much money on the dress as we had a fairly tight budget.

$4,900, first dress i tried on & fell in love with!
Why? Our wedding theme was an older style theme and the colours and large amounts of lace were just perfect for my wedding!

I paid about $1500 to $1800.00. This was the cheaper version as I didn't get the really expensive material which would've cost about $3k. I paid that cause I loved the dress and it was what I wanted...

I paid $50 for mine. Drew a design and had it made at a tailor's in Nepal (my husband proposed to me on a trek over there) and carried in a pack for 3 months. I loved it and couldn't see the point in a big and/or expensive dress - just not my style.

$1600. Absolutely loved it and will keep it in case any future generations want to wear it or use parts of it.

$170 because I refuse to pay $1000's of dollars for dresses with HUGE markups! I love my dress!

$500. I spent most of my money on the overseas honeymoon. We didn't go into debt for our wedding.

$500. It was a deb dress. It looked nice but I'm not particularly attached to it. I'd sell it but DH is sentimental and won't let me. It's nothing particularly fancy so I don't see other generations wanting to use it.
