Default Nk biopsy- does it hurt?

    Hi girls
I am booked in to have my endometrial nk biopsy on friday and am getting a bit nervous- does it hurt? I thought I would get some sedation like for a epu but I'm not.
    Thanks

Hi. I had one done last year and it did hurt a little bit. Nothing unbearable though. It only lasts a few seconds. Its kind of like contraction pain. Or really sharp period pain. Just take some pain killers beforehand. That seemed to help me.

    Goodluck xo

    Hi Poppylove,

I have had two of these done now and wouldn’t hesitate having to go through it again. My Clinic gets me to take 2 Panadol 30mins beforehand as it feels like slight period cramping for around 1 hour after the biopsy. I went both times in my lunch break and went back to work straight afterwards with no problems.

All the best with your results.

Thanks for asking that! I'm having a biopsy done start of June and had wondered what it was like.

I think I am a bit abnormal based on everyone's replies, fs gave me a local in my cervix which i did not feel at all, but I just about kicked him in the head when he took the biopsy and burst into tears. Even with pain killers beforehand it was super painful for me. I was surprised as I have a pretty high pain threshold.

It is very dependent on your anatomy. I like most was fine, went back to work afterward and the actual procedure hurt but certainly not unbearable and very quick. If you have issues with ET then this may indicate that the biopsy might be more painful. Good luck, and It will be worth it to get answers. If you are nervous then take panadiene if your not allergic to codeine.

I don't have any trouble with et so hopefully it will be quick. I do have a pretty strong pain tolerance so fingers crossed i'll be ok.
    Thanks

    Whoops accidently pressed submit.

It was fine. I wouldn't say 'yipee' if I ever had to do it again but it was so quick I just gave dh's hand a good squeeze. Had panadol before and nurofen after.

    Thanks for your support
