DS bed shared from 3 days old to 15 months, at 22 months if he wakes in the night he will sometimes sneak into bed still. I never planned on bed sharing it just happened, and worked for us, so we kept doing it.
- we all got sleep
- BF was very easy
- It helps regulate babies temp, heart rate and breathing patterns
- reduced SIDS risk
- I always knew he was safe
- those nice cuddly moments
- can get a bit squishy
I am a DEEP sleeper. I could sleep through a cyclone. Actually I have. Lol. I slept long and deep, have since i was a kid. But when it came to my baby, moments before he would wake, I would wake. If he moved away from me, I would instantly feel it and be alert. I could always sense him, where he was, if he was awake, what he needed. I became so in tune with him, it felt so right and natural to have him with me.

cons: having to be quiet when you go to bed (so we chat on the couch before sleep instead)
pros: the glorious feeling of being in a bed full of the people who make your soul complete
