hi guys my doc suggested ovarian drilling and was just wondering if it helped get rid of acne or help u lose weight???
also thinking about trying a hormone specialist to see if they can do anything for PCOS and help skin etc.. has anyone see one??
i want to take a break from taking clomid for a while and just figure out what my next plan of attack is. maybe have 6 months off before we go to IUI/IVF.. just finding it really stressful all the negative results/not ovulating and of course the HORRID clomid side effects.
thanks for ur help ladies..

Hi Sammy, just thought I'd give you a bump and at least one reply - I'm not an expert and this is only my thoughts based on my own exp. so far.
How many clomid cycles have you done?
I too have PCOS with a little bit of acne (just left side of chin) but no weight issues. I did just two cycles of clomid and now onto fsh injections with timed sex. I have found fsh much less drama than clomid. Because I'm considered clomid resistant it's only cost $35 for the injections - fs consult and scans on top of that, so not really any more expensive than clomid. A lot of people seem to feel they have better results with injections than clomid. I plan to do 2 or 3 timed sex cycles before looking at iui just cause of cost really?
If I were you I'd look into all your options - maybe even a second opinion, before opting for the drilling. That's surgery and there are risks involved, I just think there are less invasive/ less expensive things you could try first?
My fs gave me a gel for acne that's safe in preg and I just use that on my spots twice a day, Eryacne it's called and seems to be helping.
I'm also on Metformin despite coming back clear for insulin resistance - maybe google that and speak with your fs on it? I don't know if it's working for me and I don't really like the nausea but giving it a go for now. I've read others find it helps with weight and some studies suggest it can help PCOS alone or in conjunction with clomid. I'm losing tiny bit of weight just cause I find I don't feel like eating as much and often feel yuk lol.
All the best with whichever way you go, take care xx

Just saw your post in the other thread. Despite the new doc being more expensive if it takes you heaps longer to get pg with the first one you'll be paying heaps more in the long run.
Doesn't sound to me like your current doctor has done a whole heap of investigation and really there are a lot of steps you can take and try between clomid and IVF if cost is a factor - particularly if he hasn't run tests to tell you why things are not working and that IVF is your only option.
